Falcons Fall To Riverdale
The Riverdale Warriors advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 5A state play-offs with a 27-9 win over the visiting Lincoln County Falcons last Friday.
The Warriors converted punting mistakes into touchdowns in getting the win.
Riverdale took the Falcons first punt and scored on Marques Locke’s 12-yard run.
Monte Newsom scored on a 15-yard run to increase the Warrior lead.
William Merritt scored on a 2-yard pass from Chris Shelton and R. J. Sandmeyer’’s 32-yard field goal produced all the Falcon points.
The Falcons complete the season with an 8-4 worksheet. The Warriors advance to the next round to face Smyrna.
