Elks Get A Pair Of Wins
The Elkton Elks opened their basketball season with a pair of wins. They defeated Cornersville 43-33 in the season opener last Monday before stopping Richland 34-16 on Thursday.

Michael Stevenson and Kadijon Townsend scored eight points each to lead the Elkton Elks to a 34-16 road win at Richland last Thursday.
The Elks never trailed in the win. They led 7-3 at the end of one quarter, 11-5 after two and 23-10 after three.
Logan Phifer finished with five points for the winners while Chris Bledsoe added four and Delance Harney three. Scoring two points each for the Elks were Jared Bassham, Dylan Dingley and Blake Daniel.
Blake Ramsey led the Raiders with seven points while David Moss scored four.

Cornersville 33
Jared Bassham scored 15 points, six in the fourth quarter, to lead the Elkton Elks to a 43-33 win over Cornersville.
Bassham had scoring help from Kadijon Townsend who finished with 10 and Michael Stevenson who had eight. Chris Bledsoe had six and Bobby Melton four for the winners.
The winners scored 27 points in the opening half.
Josh Pope led the Bulldogs with 13 points while Taylor Rodgers added eight.
