Billy Joe Jones Billy Joe Jones, 68, of Macedonia Road, Ardmore, AL, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Curry officiating. Burial will be in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Billy Joe Jones was born April 1, 1938, in Limestone county, AL, to Elmer W. Jones and Edith Malone Jones. He lived all his life in this area. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jones of Ardmore, AL; sons, Randy Seals of Ardmore, TN, Bryan Seals of Ardmore, AL, Guy (Jamie) Seals of Somerville, AL; daughters, Jo Anne (Wayne) Pitts of Tanner, AL, Eyvonne (Jim) Lynch of Ardmore, AL, Kay Thomas of Decatur, AL, and Penny (David) Stevens of Cullman, AL; sister, Hilda (Jerry) Knox of Williamson, NC; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Eric Thomas, Keith Barnes, Billy Hargrove, Travis Seals, Chris Brady, and Col by Pitts. William Kenneth Rolin William Kenneth Rolin, 66, of Hamlett Street, Ardmore, TN, died Saturday, November 18, 2006, at the Alive Hospice Residence, Nashville, TN. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 21, at 1 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Kenneth was born July 17, 1940 to Eddie Martin and Ruby Dean Reece Rolin in Ardmore, TN. He lived in this area all of his life and was a member of Cash Point Baptist Church. Kenneth and his wife, LaDeva, were the owners of several businesses during their life together including a mini mart, a boot store, restaurant and an antique mall. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ken Rolin. Survivors include his wife, LaDeva Rolin of Ardmore, TN; daughter, Tina and husband Stoney Green of Ardmore, TN; three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Stanley Davis, Tommy Campbell, Jerry Smith, Gurmej Singh, Tim Rolin and Rocky Green. Arthur Fredrick Champion Arthur Fredrick Champion, 74, of Jones Avenue, Ardmore, AL, died, Saturday, November 11, 2006, at his residence. A memorial service was held Thursday, November 16, at 6 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Brister officiating. Arthur Fredrick Champion was born January 19, 1932 in New York to Ezra Champion and Esther Houseworth Champion. He lived in this area since coming from New York in 1998. He had worked as a crane operator for VAW of America. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Kathleen Proctor Champion. Survivors include sons, Art J. Champion of Ellenville, NY, Gary Michael Champion of Germany, John David Champion of Hazel Green, AL, William Champion of Ellenville, NY; brother, Richard Champion of Napa, CA, sister, Ruth Ike of Interlaken, NY; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Alabama Crime Victims Fund, P.O. Box 1548, Montgomery, AL 36102-1548. Bettye Smith McElroy Bettye Smith McElroy, 69, of Nashville, TN, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006. A memorial service will be held at Cash Point Baptist Church Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Bettye attended and graduated from Blanche High School, Blanche, TN, where she was a cheerleader during her high school years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sim and Hazel Smith of Ardmore, TN. Survivors include her husband, Travis McElroy and son Steve; sister, Anna Massey of Brentwood; brothers, Harmon (Susan) Smith of Franklin, TN, Ray (Kay) Smith of Decatur, AL. Memorial donations may be made to the Minnie Pearl Foundation, 2410 Patterson Street, Suite 110, Nashville, TN 37203. Helen Elizabeth Steppe Helen Elizabeth Steppe, 83, of Whitt Street, Ardmore, AL, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. No services are planned at this time. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Helen Elizabeth was born April 3, 1923 in East St. Louis, IL, to Virgil Brawley and Katie Lillian Horn Brawley. She has lived in this area for 20 years since coming from Bellville, IL. She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Steppe was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Steppe. Survivors include one son, Terry Back of Pulaski, TN; one daughter, Cynthia Sale of North Ft. Meyers, FL; brother, Virgil Brawley, Jr. of Bellville, IL; sisters, Georgia Brawley and Faye Brem both of Bellville, IL, Laverne Avery of Sarasota, FL, and Nellie Ross of Desert Hot Springs, CA; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
