Balanced Scoring Aids B-Team Win The Ardmore B-team, ninth and 10th graders, defeated the B-team at Elkmont 46-34 in the season opener for both squads. The Tigers scored six unanswered points in the opening quarter and never trailed again. After swapping baskets to begin the contest, Ardmore had baskets from Jake Marlow, Zane Hambay and Matthew Smith before Elkmont could score again. They led at each quarter stop 10-7 after one, 23-14 after two and 34-22 after three. Ardmore scored the last five points of the game on a two-pointer from Marlow, a pair of free throws from Angel Barrios and a free throw from Wales. The Red Devils reeled of seven unanswered points early in the fourth quarter on a three-pointer from Ian Miller, two points apiece from Jeremy Gernett and Darius Cosby. Smith led the winners with 11 points as Barrios and Wales each scored eight and Jeffery Boyce seven. Marlow had six for the Tigers while Hambay scored four and Matt Lannom two. Gernett led Elkmont with 10 points s Miller finished with nine and Landon Lawrence six. Dylan Pope had six, Cosby five, while Lee Patterson and Ray Davis scored two points each. |
