David Solomon connected on 19 of 23 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to lead the Elkmont Red Devils to a 71-57 win Friday over the visiting Ardmore Tigers.
Solomon finished with a game high 25 points while his brother, Brandon, finished with 11 points and Tom Logan added 13.
Matthew Clem finished with 17 points to lead Ardmore. Jake Stagner scored eight while Will Lewis finished with six points.
The Tigers’ final lead came in the opening quarter when Matthew Clem’s basket broke a 7-7 deadlock. Brandon Solomon scored the last four points for the Red Devils
James Vann Teeples hit a pair of frees throws in the second quarter for the Tigers to stop an Elkmont five point scoring run. Logan scored the next seven points for the Red Devils.
The Red Devils led 30-20 at the half and extended their lead to 43-29 after three quarters.
Ardmore’s largest unanswered scoring run came in the fourth quarter when Stagner made a three-point play and Clem hit a two-pointer to pull Ardmore within 10, 48-38.
Both teams scored 28 fourth quarter points. The Solomon brothers combined for the last five points of the game from the free throw line.
