Helen Bailes Helen Bailes, 83, of Gatlin Road, Ardmore, AL, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, Athens, AL. Funeral services were held Monday, November 27, at 1 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Boyles and Rev. Bill Chester officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Helen Campbell Bailes was born November 18, 1923 in Giles County, TN, to Smith Campbell and Alma Merrell Campbell. She lived here 17 years after moving back from Huntsville, AL. She was a member of the Wooley Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Roy Gene (Doris) Coulter of Ardmore, AL; brothers, Willard Campbell of Lester, AL, Edward Campbell of Pulaski, TN; sisters, Lucille Bailes of Tuscaloosa, AL, Sadie Finley and Martha Thompson of Ardmore, AL; grandsons, Roy Glenn Coulter of Atlanta, GA, and James David Coulter serving in Iraq; great-grandchildren, Chris, Joshua, Sydney, Preston, and Tristan. Robert Browning Paysinger Robert Browning Paysinger, 74, of Paysinger Lane, Ardmore, TN, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, at his residence. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, November 25, at 10 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, TN, with Bro. John Ives and Bro. Richard Garland officiating. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Bob was born July 7, 1932 to Presley Lovell and Frances “Fanny” Louise Fite Paysinger in Giles County, TN. He lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church. Bob was a mail carrier for 27 years and spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of the Lions Club, Treasurer of the Ardmore Fire Dept., Boy Scout Leader, and Sunday School teacher of the Misfits Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Doris Stevenson and Frances Locke. Survivors include his wife, LaGatha Paysinger of Ardmore, TN; sons, Bobby (Jane) Paysinger of East Limestone, AL, Jeff Paysinger of Ardmore, TN, Tim (Dawn) Paysinger of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Chris (Suzanne) Paysinger of Athens, AL, Jaffe Paysinger of Elkmont, AL, T.J. and Todd Paysinger of Decatur, AL; great-granddaughter, Avery Paysinger of Athens, AL. Memorial donations may be made to Christians Helping Others of Ardmore. Goldie Lee Rodgers Goldie Lee Rodgers, 89, of W. Market Street, Athens, AL, formerly of Ragsdale Creek, Elkmont, AL, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, November 28, at 10 a.m. at Hasting Cemetery in Ardmore with Rev. Wayne Kent officiating. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home was in charge. Goldie Lee was born April 15, 1917 in Tennessee to Alex Wilson and Annie Barnes Wilson. She lived most of her life in this area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timmy Rodgers; daughter Maxine Eaves; and grandson, David Mark Watkins. Survivors include sons, Alton Rogers of Guntersville, AL, and Ray Rogers of Elkmont, AL; daughters, Virginia Watkins of Athens, AL, Martha Wales and Betty McWilliams of Elkmont, AL; sisters, Beatrice Franklin of Cleveland, GA, and Rosetta Cooley of Detroit, MI; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joey Rogers, Jeff Wales, Brian Reece, Justin Rogers, Jacob Rogers, and Blake Wales. |
