Tiger Middle School Boys Win Thriller

After winning in overtime 47-42 at Elkton last Monday, the Ardmore Middle School boys fell to the visiting Tanner Rattlers 50-37 last Thursday.

Ardmore 47, Elkton 42

The Ardmore Middle School Tigers scored the last eight points in double overtime to get a 47-42 win at Elkton last Monday.

The game was tied 31-31 at the end of regulation.

In the first overtime Logan Phifer’s 3-point basket gave the Elks the early lead. The Tigers had a field goal apiece from J Tribble and Landon Boggs giving Ardmore an advantage. Wade Riggs hit a pair of free throws countered by a 3-point play from Chris Bledsoe.

Both teams had 4-point unanswered runs to begin the second overtime. Ardmore scored the next five points to get the win. In that overtime Tyler Elliott and J Tribble each hit a 2-pointer. Matt Teeples hit a 2-pointer and a pair of free throws while Wade Riggs and Landon Boggs each hit a free throw.

Riggs led Ardmore with 18 points as Tribble scored nine and Teeples eight. Kyle Hutchinson had seven points for the winners while Boggs finished with three and Elliott two.

Kadijon Townsend led Elkton with 12 as Bledsoe scored 10 and Jared Bassham seven. Michael Stevenson had six for the Elks while Quentin Braden had four, Phifer three and Bobby Melton one.

Tanner 50, Ardmore 37

Three Tanner Middle School Rattlers scored in each quarter enroute to a 50-37 win over the Ardmore Middle School Tigers. Matthew Hines led all scorers with 17 points as Trey Cosby added 12 and Isiah Smith 11.

Matt Teeples, the only Tiger to score each quarter, led Ardmore with 12 points. Wade Riggs scored eight and Landon Boggs six. J Tribble had four points for Ardmore as Austin Fogg finished with three while Michael Fogg had two.
