AHS Band Christmas Concert Monday

The Ardmore High School Band will hold its annual Christmas Concert next Monday night, December 18. The concert, to be held in the gymnasium, will begin at 7 PM. This year’s concert will benefit the Ardmore Civitan Toy Chest. Admission to the concert is free, but each family is asked to bring a new unwrapped toy or make a cash donation to the Toy Chest.

According to Band Director Stanley Nelson, band members have been working diligently to prepare for the event and this year’s concert should be among the best ever.

“We are looking forward to performing for the community and firmly believe that those who attend the concert will be pleased,” said Nelson.

Nelson and the concert band members would like to encourage everyone to come and enjoy the evening of Christmas music. They would also like to have everyone bring a new unwrapped toy for the Toy Chest or make a cash donation to the project.

If past performances are any indication, those who attend the concert will not be disappointed. The Ardmore High School Band has consistently won awards in state competitions and beyond and always puts on a high-quality performance.

This year’s concert also features a chance for the audience to participate in a special sing-along.

The musical presentations will include “Sleigh Ride”, “Fanfare for Christmas”, “All is Calm”, “Christmas Pop Sing-A-Long”, “Rudolph In Wonderland”, “Ring In The Joy”, “A Fireside Christmas”, “An Irving Berlin Christmas” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”

“Immediately following the band’s performance, we will have a Christmas Sing-along. This will give the audience a chance to not only participate, but share in and contribute to the spreading of the Christmas spirit.”

The concert is a joint presentation of the Ardmore High School Band and the Ardmore Civitan.
