From The Ardmore Public Library

Homeward Bound by Virginia Blanck Moore sited in Poems for Christmas.

My heart is homeward bound these days

Because it’s Christmastime.

When I see windows gaily decked

And hear the carols chime,

When I meet parcel-laden folks

Returning smiles with smiles,

My heart goes winging straight across

The intervening miles

To home, to family, and to friends

That childhood days made dear,

To hometown streets where passersby

Greet one with welcoming cheer.

Though years go by and decades too,

Still I have always found

When Christmastime makes its approach

My heart is homeward bound.

Merry Christmas from Ardmore Public Library.
