Ardmore’s Lady Tigers
Fall To County Foes

The Ardmore Lady Tigers dropped two contests on the hardwoods last week. On Tuesday Ardmore fell at East Limestone 67-40 in a region and area contest. On Friday the Lady Red Devils of Elkmont defeated Ardmore 56-42.

Elkmont 56, Ardmore 42

The Elkmont Lady Red Devils never trailed in their 56-42 win over Ardmore last Friday. After scoring the first six points, the Lady Red Devils led at each quarter stop, 16-7 after one, 29-19 after two and 42-34 after three.

Six was as close as Ardmore could get in the third quarter, 40-34, before Elkmont hit a pair of free throws for the final points. In that run Brittany Miles and Jennifer Ratley hit a pair of free throws each.

The Lady Tigers got within six in the second quarter after outscoring their opposition 12-5 in a late run in the first half.

Jamie Lack scored 12 of her game high 13 points in the second half while Olivia Pressnell had 11 and Bailee Robinson 11. Kasey Menifee added nine for Elkmont while Amber Harwell and Stephanie Bentley each scored six. Ashley Roberson and Lacey Nave added two points each for the winners.

Landria Curtis and Miles each scored eight points for Ardmore. Lauren Atchley and Ratley each scored six, Shannon Fogg and Jennifer Mills each had six and Hailey Drake four.

Pressnell had three three-pointers and Harwell one for the winners. Fogg had Ardmore’s only three-pointer.

East Limestone 67, Ardmore 40

Danielle Jefferson scored 13 of her game high 27 points in the first quarter to lead East Limestone to a 67-40 victory over Ardmore.

Shanika Harris, who scored nine points in the third quarter, finished with 19 while Ebony McCrary scored 15.

Hailey Drake scored a dozen points from the Lady Tigers while Jennifer Mills finished with eight and Brittany Miles seven.

Shannon Fogg scored three and Lauren Atchley two for Ardmore.

Three points,11-8, was as close as Ardmore could get on the opening quarter when Drake hit a field goal.

Jefferson scored the first four points and McCrary the last four in a 12-point unanswered run in the second.

Ardmore will travel to West Limestone on Thursday before participating in a tournament at Madison Academy on Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Tigers will face the host team, Madison Academy, at 3 p.m. on Friday and take on Randolph at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
