Rayborn Puckett Rayborn Puckett, 57, of Songbird Circle, Ardmore, AL, died Sunday, December 24, 2006, in Madison County, AL. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, from 6-9 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be Friday, December 29, at 3 p.m. at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Rev. Derrick Moose officiating. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rayborn was born July 25, 1949, in Ardmore, AL, to Howard Wilburn Puckett and Ola Mae Taft Puckett. He lived all his life in the Ardmore area. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the manager for Jeff Gin Co. Survivors include his wife, Kay Puckett of Ardmore, AL; son, Sean Puckett of Asheville, NC; sister, Betty (Tommy) Melton of Reidsville, NC; uncles, Ray Taft and Leon Puckett both of Ardmore, AL. Louis Ira Swafford Louis Ira Swafford, 86, of Hazel Green, AL, died Friday, December 22, 2006, at SunBridge of Fayetteville, TN. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Hovis officiating. Burial was in the Taylor Cemetery in Hazel Green, AL, with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Louis Ira Swafford was born July 20, 1920 in Flintville, TN, to John Alexander Swafford and Betty Nora Russ Swafford. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the 3 C’s. He and his wife were married for 63 years and he was the last of 11 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise Campbell Swafford, and a son, Mack Swafford. Survivors include son, Roger (Regina) Swafford of New Market, AL; grandchildren, Stacy and Kelly Swafford; great-grandchildren, Beth Ann Morring and Samuel Tindol. Lester Graviet Lester Graviet, 80, of Bethel Road, Ardmore, AL, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, December 22, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Holt officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Lester was born June 20, 1926 in Madison County, AL, to Clarence Graviet and Lola Turner Graviet. He lived all his life in this area. He was a member of Pettusville Church of Christ, and a member of the AFL/CIO for 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Gail Graviet of Ardmore, AL; sons, Danny (Connie) Graviet, Tony (Sherri) Graviet, and Randy (April) Graviet, all of Ardmore, AL; sister, Gertrude Vining of Ardmore, AL; host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jason Graviet, Kris Graviet, Parker Graviet, Gary Graviet, Ted James, Roger Vining, and Barry Teeples. Mary Nell Smith Colvin Mary Nell Smith Colvin, 78, of Highway 31 S., Athens, AL, formerly of Marshall Co., KY, died Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, December 26, at 3 p.m. at Hasting Cemetery in Ardmore, AL, with Bro. Sammy Brister officiating. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home was in charge. Mary was born August 19, 1928 in Benton, KY, to Cleavie and Ersy Crouse Smith. She was of the Baptist faith and worked in the hotel industry most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Noble and Loyd Smith. Survivors include her husband, James D. Colvin of Athens, AL; daughters, Karen (Chris) Vangoss of Dearborne, MI, and Glenna Ross Hornyak of Woodhaven, MI; brohter, Henry Toy (Curly) Smith of Taylo, MI; sister, Odell (L.D.) Norsworthy of Allen Park, MI; five grandchildren, Tamera Vangoss, Andrea Vangoss, Matthew Vangoss, April (Joe) Tavarez, and Benny Hornyak; and three great-grandchildren. Alice Lorena Rogers Alice Lorena Rogers, 84, of 26696 Whitt Street, Ardmore, AL, died Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Pulaski, TN. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Roger Jackson and Bryon Davis officiating. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of arrangements. Alice was born June 12, 1922 in Nashville, TN, to Carl Merton Wilkes and Gillie Louise Drake Wilkes. She worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for an electronics manufacturing co. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Ardmore, TN. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Rogers, her parents, and sisters, Margaret W. Jones and Annie Mae Carter. Survivors include her sister, Helen Hill of Ardmore, TN; nephews, Lucian Carter of Dallas, GA, Carl Hill of Ardmore, TN, Lawrence Hill of Ardmore, TN, and Gilbert Hill of Taylorsville, GA; and a step-son, Billy Rogers of Hohenwald, TN. |
