The Ardmore High School Girls’ Golf Team added a major feather to its cap last Wednesday at the Southern Gayles Golf Club.

Exhibiting solid play in both the long game and on the greens, the Lady Tigers of Ardmore shot a combined 291 and captured the Class 1A-5A Sectional Championship.

All the way around, it was a stellar performance by the Lady Tigers. The team finished a full 21 strokes ahead of Arab, who finished in second.

Haley Helums led the field with a low score of 90. Ashley Beck also notched a low score, coming in at 93 and teammate Megan Pressnell finished at 108.

Ardmore was slated to play in the sub-state round at Canebrake yesterday.
